Yahoo and GDPR
The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) took effect on May 25, 2018, and was designed to give consumers in the European Union more control and transparency over their personal data.
Yahoo is still committed to our publishers and advertisers and ensuring they are set up to successfully navigate the GDPRs.
SSP and GDPR
To ensure continuity of service and compliance with the GDPR, download the Mobile SDK which
- Includes Privacy APIs that allow publishers to 1) inform the SDK of the user’s consent status relative to GDPR and 2) pass in a consent string for that user.
- Restricts the collection of personal data for users under GDPR jurisdiction that have not consented to the usage of their data for advertising purposes.
Note: SSP clients using ad tags to pass consent should use the Mobile SDK for best results.
